CLASS 19 ROOTS AND VEGETABLES
Rules:
Section:
1. Display of Vegetables. “Garden Salsa” 4 or more, home grown vegetables, named, that would be used to make salsa, include a recipe. Prize: 1st $20, 2nd $15, 3rd $12, 4th $10, 5th $8.
2. Collection of Tomatoes. Must be five varieties, one of each variety to be named (stems attached).
Prize: 1st $6, 2nd $5, 3rd $4, 4th $2.
3. Collection of Potatoes. At least three varieties, properly named, 3 of each variety. Prize: 1st $6, 2nd $4, 3rd $3, 4th $2.
4. Collection of Carrots. Three different varieties, 2 of each variety with ½” green tops, to be named.
Prize: 1st $6, 2nd $4, 3rd $3, 4th $2.
5. Longest Zucchini Prize: 1st $6, 2nd $4, 3rd $3, 4th $2.
6. Largest Pumpkin or Squash by Weight (in good condition) Donated by Wellington Wood Products (1972 Ltd)
Prize: 1st $30, 2nd $20, 3rd $10
7. Best Scarecrow, “Traditional”. Must be self supporting, height to be 4’ or over.
